im based in matamata now. yep. ditched the big ugly city and getting down in the country town. its great here, and we are working hard to get set up again in our OWN place. wow. that’ll be good to see. so my studio is in crates. bout the only thing i could do is pitch up two good mikes in my lab (garage) and go direct to ampex 1/2″ tape. simple … but actually . that’s your record right there. if u can play it.
anyways you might not want to come to matamata (hobbiton) – so theres a cool guy alex bennett up in auckland who can do the business if you want a good sounding recording – hes got great mikes – ampex valve tape recorders – and the use of perfect recording rooms … ridiculous big ones. his business is called SOUND RECORDINGS. his website is under construction. hes on facebook. and his band is the raw nerves. and he makes recordings to tape and the records get cut from them. no computers. awesome.
